  • About the human behind

Hello! Здравеѝ! Bonjour! I'm Kapka, a mother, a wife, a daughter and an yogini.

My journey has taken me across three continents, each shaping who I am today. I was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, grew up between Bulgaria and Morocco (Safi), and pursued my post-secondary education in Paris, France, where I earned a Bachelor and a Master degrees in Human Resources and Social Anthropology. In 2003, I moved to North Vancouver with my family, where the beauty of the mountains, forests, and ocean continues to inspire both my life and my work.

For more than 20 years, I have worked as a senior human resources leader, supporting individuals, leaders, and organizations in creating healthy workplaces, developing authentic leadership, and fostering meaningful human connections. Throughout this journey, yoga and meditation have remained my constant companions for decades, helping me cultivate resilience, navigate life's challenges, and reconnect with what truly matters. Today, I bring these two worlds together. As a Registered Therapeutic Yoga Teacher (ERYT 500), I integrate modern understanding of nervous system regulation with the timeless wisdom of yoga, mindfulness, breathwork, and meditation.

My work is rooted in the belief that healing begins when we slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with ourselves. I support individuals navigating chronic stress, burnout, depression, chronic pain, life transitions or simply seeking greater balance and vitality. Through personalized yoga therapy, small-group programs, workshops, retreats, and workplace wellness experiences, I create compassionate, trauma-informed spaces where people can regulate their nervous systems, build resilience, and reconnect with their innate capacity to heal.

My intention is to help each individual cultivate self-awareness, compassion, meaningful connection, and lasting well-being so they can live with greater ease, authenticity, and joy.

The meaning behind my name and my logo: My name, Kapka, means "drop" in Bulgarian, a drop of water, a raindrop, or a simple drop. To me, is a beautiful reminder that even the smallest drop can nourish life and create gentle ripples of change. Like water, healing is often quiet and gradual it begins with a single breath, a moment of awareness, or an act of self-compassion. I believe every drop matters, and together those drops become a river of transformation.

  • What is Yoga for me

Yoga is not something we do for an hour on the mat. It is a way of living, a way of returning to ourselves and remembering that we are already whole. In Sanskrit, the word yoga means to unite, to reconnect what has become separated. It is the union of body, mind, heart, breath, spirit, and our connection to nature and to something greater than ourselves. Yoga reminds us that we are not isolated beings; we are part of a living and breathing web of life.

In a world that encourages us to move faster, achieve more, and constantly strive for what comes next, yoga offers a different path. It reminds us that there is nothing to prove, nothing to fix, and nowhere else we need to be. The invitation is simply to pause, to breathe, and to reconnect with the wisdom that has always lived within us.

The ancient wisdom of yoga is beautifully expressed through the Eight Limbs, a path that gently guides us toward a more conscious life. It invites us to cultivate compassion in our relationships, integrity in our actions, kindness toward ourselves, mindful movement, conscious breathing, inward awareness, meditation, and ultimately a profound sense of unity. It is not a destination to achieve, but a lifelong journey of awakening and a deep sense of connection with ourselves, with others, and with life itself.

At the heart of this journey is the breath. Breath is prana or our life force or even more. It is the bridge between the body and the mind, between thought and feeling, between doing and being. Every conscious breath offers an opportunity to soften the nervous system, quiet the constant chatter of the mind, and return to the present moment. When the mind becomes quieter, we begin to hear something deeper: the wisdom of the body, the intelligence of the heart, and the quiet voice of our inner self. We begin to recognize that beneath the layers of stress, expectations, fear, and self-judgment, we are already whole.

The heart is a place of compassion, courage, joy, and connection. When we allow ourselves to breathe into the heart, we create space for acceptance, healing, and love not because we have become someone new, but because we have remembered who we have always been. This is what yoga means to me. It is not about perfect postures or greater flexibility. It is not about achieving more. It is about cultivating a relationship with ourselves that is rooted in presence, kindness, and curiosity.

My intention is to create a space where you feel safe to slow down, reconnect with your breath, listen to your body, and trust your own inner wisdom. Because I believe healing doesn't begin by becoming someone else. It begins the moment we remember that we were never disconnected from ourselves only distracted.

    One breath.

    One heartbeat.

    And a lot of smiles!

Let's connect and explore what you need!

I am grateful to live, work, and offer my services on the unceded and traditional territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) and the səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation). I honour the deep and ongoing connection these Nations have to this land and waters, and I acknowledge their enduring presence and wisdom. With respect and gratitude, I recognize the responsibility we all share to care for this land and to move forward in a spirit of awareness, reciprocity, and respect.
